STATE FURNITURE SUPPLIES / TEMPLE COMMERCIAL FURNITURE is a wholly owned Australian company whose policy is to manufacture quality Australian products with raw materials sourced from reputable suppliers who comply with high ethical standards in regards to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Controls and Fair Wages and Conditions.
Sadly many imported products do not meet these standards particularly with regard to product quality and environmental safety.
For example Some imported fibre boards used to manufacture desks and tables etc. contain dangerous levels of formaldehyde and off gassing adhesives as well as wood chips sourced from illegal harvesting.
Our suppliers including Laminex, Polytec and D & R Henderson manufacture board which is made in Australia and is subject to strict limits on harmful agents
Environmental Policy
We are not certified but work to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and endeaver to go beyond these generally over engineering everything. part of what we do enviromentally is remove old steel product for recycling when replacing with new, our steel waste is also sent to scrap for recycling, cover sheets and bearers are returned to timber suppliers for re use, when hendersons are accepting particle board waste for recycling we send it their instead of it going to landfill (hopefully laminex will one day follow suit), cardboard, paper and plastic waste is all sent for recycling.
We appreciate that school and office budgets are strained to the limit and often imports seem to offer real savings but at what cost?
The economy needs jobs to be created in Australia to provide your children with a future. Manufacturing is vital to this country but so much capacity is now being exported that its future, particularly for small highly efficient companies is bleak.
